Last night we held a portrait evening with two fantastic models.
Jenna had never modelled before, and she was a natural. Her cosplay outfit and make-up looked brilliant against the black backdrop and she was happy to try out different poses for us.
Mick, alias Ozzy Osbourne in his black and white outfit and heavy jewellery made for a very different model. As well as posing for us, he also kept us entertained.
Many thanks to both models👏
Thank you too to all the members who kindly helped set up the equipment, and to those who stayed behind to help pack up at the end of the night. It’s very much appreciated
Next week we have the results of the Still Life and Interiors competitions judged by Peter Maguire.
Thursday 26th September
Last night we held the results of our first competitions of the season – Colour and Mono Prints Rnd.1
There were 17 entries into each competition, and our judge David Hall gave an excellent critique on each image. He also gave helpful advice on how to make improvements.
Keith Saint won the mono competition with an excellent image entitled ‘ No Shelter’.
Keith also took the top spot in the colour competition with an image entitled ‘Storm’. The muted palette and square format made this a stunning photograph.
Well done Keith 👏
Next week we have a Portrait Night.
We’ve arranged for a male and a female model to sit for us, and we’ll have 2 different set-ups. Please bring your cameras with you.
Next week is also the submission date for 2 Print Competitions – Action & Movement and Portraits.
Thursday 5th September
Last night was Chairman’s Night when we were treated to 2 excellent mono print presentations by Peter Dixon and Ed Forster. The presentations showcased their ‘projects’.
Both photographers do little in the way of editing, but enjoy the process of taking, printing and mounting their own images.
It was a great opener to our new season.
